The horses of The Balanced Horse Project welcome you.

Who is Patricia Cleveland?

Picture
I’m not the famous rider on the winning horse. I am the person who understands how to make a winning horse work better and how to improve horses that will not or can not work. I like a challenge.

Reading, researching and assimilating information developed educational encounters with innovators working in human science, veterinary science, electrical engineering, structural development, and people known as healers. My experience took me to the wilds of Australia were I learned to trust me inner self and become aware of the body’s response to various energy fields.

In 1972, I noticed a systematic weakness in equestrian studies relating to Structural imbalances in both horse and the rider.  Veterinarians and blacksmiths did not resolve the difficulties I encountered. For the rest of my horse career, I searched for answers that eventually removed me from mainstream thinking while producing successful horse rider partnerships.

The Little Things in Life

Picture
Apache Arrowhead wins.

Horse owners from every breed and/or discipline, in six countries, seek my advice and use my expertise, when considering alternative systems of caring for horses.
  • As a private consultant, I introduced Homeopathic remedies and structural release to the owners. One situation with a Pacer “DR. NO”, showed remarkable improvement in training  and set two North American track records of 1.48:2 seconds.

A Canadian Racing Hall of Frame, driver /trainer felt Arrowhead
a pacer, was un-trainable as the horse charged uncontrollably through the bridle, stopping in the track's pond. Arrowhead made it to the track and had a long career after his owner employed my skills. (Photo)

Aussie Olympics

HIGH PARK CORNER advanced from 43th position to 6th position for the
2000US Olympic Eventing team Competing in the
Australian Olympics, Julie Burns (Black)and HIGH PARK CORNER ranked 9th in the world after
competing as an individual rider. Julie asked me to work with her horse while she was challenging for a place on the team. I  said good luck to High Park the night before he was flown to the land down under to make his mark at the gam
es.

The limitation of living in southern Alabama restrict access to the big league horses and the glory that goes with that exposure. It did offer isolation to develop this project WITHOUT external influences from the industry.

At very long  list of infamous horses filled my life,  some competitive, some just family members, all in need of understanding and physical support.

I thank these horses and their owners for the opportunities to grow, to redefine, and to simplify this important advancement  for the horse industry.

My interests and situations have allowed me to participate in the following:
  •    The International Alliance for Animal Therapist and Healers 2001 Panel Member-discussing concurrent approaches to Holistic/Alternative therapies. I was recognized as a medical intuitive during this Symposium.
  •   2005-7 Florida Alliance for Animal Owner’s Rights-active speaker in the Florida House of Representatives, Senate regarding changes in the statue describing Veterinary Medicine and its practice in the State. Successful changes in the wording to allow Preventative Care providers to be contracted by Herd Animal owners.
  •   The Holistic Horse magazine published:
               - Mismatched feet,
                        - Crooked mare crooked stallion crooked foal
                        - Fractured foals

Addicted for Life

Picture

OH WHAT A LIFE!

A horse addict from birth, I focused on a solid technical education in Olympic Equestrian Disciplines based on the French and Spanish riding philosophies. Working from my birthplace, Peterborough, Ontario Canada, my goal was to ride on the Canadian Equestrian Eventing Team. Like many others life, timing and money diverted my involvement into training and working with difficult horses
.

From the complicated w
orld of specialized educated conversations to the simple concepts and applications of the Balanced Horse Project™,
I have spent most of my life outside the mainstream horse community, producing material that challenges how we think.

My life’s path constantly returns me to nature.
Whether I’m sitting in a canoe fishing or relaxing in a foreign culture,
life draws me deeper into its mysteries.
When you understand the communication efforts of animals and can
improve their state of well being without all the stuff humans are brainwashed
into believing, one can smile inside without concern for the challenges that have
been over come and the doors I’ve opened for others to step through.
